Garden Buffet at Main Street Station

We went to this buffet for brunch. What a disappointment. A full third of the buffet (where the Mexican and Hawaiian food used to be) was not available. The server said that part of the buffet is only open for dinner on weekends.

We paid $26 apiece to eat dried out meat (only had chicken and two types of sausage), some dried out blintzes, and some other dried out food.  The only thing tasty was the bread pudding. The room itself is still beautiful, but the food is awful now.

Wow, that makes absolutely no sense that the they close part of the buffet for weekend dinners, which are probably the busiest, and most expensive meals. Not cool Main Street Station.

Another great move by Boyds. They want your money and give you nothing.

I'm supposed to host a filmmaker friend, a Mafia expert, when he tours Las Vegas. I have always liked setting up my day at the Main Street buffet for breakfast, but I am slightly embarrassed to take him there. The price is borderline outrageous for what it is, and even though I love the room and kicking off the day there with multiple people, the food is just okay.

My conclusion was to take him there once for brunch, pick up the tab, tell him once upon a time it was better, but I wanted him to experience the room.

The question I have to ask myself these days in Las Vegas is whether any Golden Corral would be a better value than the buffet I'm looking at. If the answer is yes, I have no business eating at that buffet.

Will do. Excellent suggestion. It is already on the schedule. I figured out of all the buffets, it was a must-do and I'll try to make arrangements if Mr. Vacarro, the SP bookmaker, is there for maybe a quick handshake and hello.

I stopped in South Point last trip (April) and had the breakfast buffet. Hard to beat that deal.

I'll probably take this film guy for Happy Hour at Oscar's downtown. The meatballs are pretty good, and the happy hour prices are okay.

By the way, the guy I'm hosting was second or third director (I never know who does what) on a movie coming out in the fall, The Art Thief, based on the book. He also had a decent role in the film.

I never thought it was good before COVID.   Even with the 50% off coupon.

By all accounts it is even worse now.   I cant even fathom that.

The buffet @ Main Street was the go-to buffet downtown pre-covid. Great selection, reasonable priced. The pathetic buffet they are now offering is an insult to the former buffet and WAY overpriced. Just another morinic decision by the current Boyd bean counters.

What's going on with what is left of Buffets Many of the more reasonable ones only do Breakfast or lunch. Many of those that do dinner are

$50-$60-$70 and up. I miss the two for one at Main Street Station

plus other Station Buffets I do go to Southpoint Yet usually not

Ready to eat before 11am for the breakfast coupon. Dinner

still reasonable with player club card.
