My wife and I love ham steak breakfasts and when we read in the LVA that Home Plate's major league was bigger and better than Irene's we had to check it out.
We respectively disagree:
The ham is definately not bigger (we may be a bit weird, but we measured) but it was close enough to be within a margin of error.
The ham was a fraction less fatty, but also less flavorful.
The potatoes were poor- badly overdone and crunchy to the point of being a bit uncomfortable to chew.
It IS definately is enough for two or plenty of leftovers.
It IS a better place for kids. More restaurant-like than the bar atmosphere. The bar is separated from the dining area by a partition.
One other issue for me. The video poker at Irene's is MUCH better. We've been going for years and only twice have I not won more than the cost of our meal.
Our opinion- for what it's worth.
