The comments are the best part...

:"This is more of the same from the LV Rag. Pandering to the economic ignorance of its readers by comparing apples to oranges. Nowhere is it stated that it costs a heck of a lot more to do business on or near the Strip then it does in neighborhood locations. The price per square foot rentals are two, three, four or more times on the Strip then in the neighborhoods. If a business wants to remain in business that has to be taken into account in setting prices. Little wonder the LV Rag and its sister publications have failed so miserably over the years. No wonder so many employed by businesses owned or managed by Brian Greenspin are out pounding the pavement looking for work!"

"By beerbellytex Oct. 14, 2011 6:59 a.m. Flag The rent and cost of business is probably much higher on the strip. So prices are higher. "

By vegaslee Oct. 14, 2011 7:07 a.m. Flag You people would be SHOCKED to learn the cost of Rent on the Las Vegas Strip. The monthly rent for a One Hundred Sq. ft. space can be six months of your house payment, or more!"

It is not a case of ripping people off with this pricing, it is called covering the cost of business.

By UTE (William Finch) Oct. 14, 2011 7:14 a.m. Flag This is one of the most "duh!" articles this paper has put out. Of course food costs more on The Strip. It costs more to do business on The Strip. What's next? An article about how premium gas costs more than regular gas? "
The Subway on the Strip charges the same price as the Subway in the burbs.

I've often wondered if the cost of a rental car is made up by eating in the cheaper suburb establishments. But that requires way more effort into determining than I am willing to put into it.
