In pursuit of good margaritas

My wife is a fan of frozen margaritas. Unfortunately she finds that most casino bars use the pre-mixed variety that looks like a slurpy machine and taste far too sweet.

Any one aware of bars where the margaritas are prepared and blended on the spot and are decent too? I guess I can look carefully at the bar and make sure there are no slurpy machines but then you never know.

Thanks,
SP

I'd suggest just specifying the type of margarita she wants, then asking them to blend it.

The excessive sweetness is as much a function of crappy inputs as the slushy machine.
Yeah, good luck finding those that Aren't slurpee machine margaritas.
In Vegas, I only order while sitting at a machine.........and just ask the cocktail server
what kind they have. If slurpee machine? I would order something else.
The point being, every Vegas casino has a bar. You ask for a good tequila, good orange liqueur, fresh lime juice and simple syrup ... a basic top-shelf margarita. Instead of rocks you have it blended. Some places might not be able to do the fresh juice and simple syrup, which is when you opt to sweet/sour.

I enjoy a good frozen Margarita when I can get one,
but if it's from a slurpee machine, so be it.
I look at it as an extra-flavored Slush-Puppy with Booze, and that cool too !!! (hic)

Another option is to get your drink on before you gamble. In this case Isla is a great option. Or a use your Palms LVA 50 percent off coupon at Blue Agave Oyster and Chile Bar, for some killer margs -- you call the ingredients -- at a bargain price.
And if you are out at Red Rock Resort, spin on by Agave!
Ditto Ken2v. Agave in Summerlin is great!
With respect - Frozen Margs are a pretty complex drink to get from casino bars that are meant for high volume and comped alcohol. If you are looking for quality frozen drinks you should probably expect to go to a bar off the casino floor that requires you to pay. Exceptions to this might be the high-end casinos. Cosmopolitan, for example, only serves high quality liquor so perhaps they also incorporate high quality mixers. It would seem a waste to mix Patron with slush-mix...but who knows?
