Is there a list for corkage fees tor vegas

We recently had a nice diner at a fancey steakhouse in las vegas.  the cheapest bottle of cab was  128 dollars. We said no thanks, and asked what the corkage fee was, which he said was 25 dollars.  Seems like a nice way to avoid the gouge and still have a nice dinner !

Which restaurant?

We brought our own Champaign to Binions Steakhouse for my sisters wedding reception dinner there.   They charged us $25...and we paid another hundred for 4 bottles of  Champaign we got at the Walgreens across the street.     Saved us about $$150

all alcohol is overpriced at restaurants but wine is crazy.    You pay $50/bottle for the the cheap railroad bum hooch they sell at the liquor store for $10.   God forbid you want a decent bottle.    It's gonna cost you a Benjamin..

We had dinner at the Voo Doo steakhouse at the Rio.  We had a 100 dollar celebration dinner to use and the Rio was easy in and out on a friday night.  Food and service was pretty good, but the room was realy rundown  and bread service was extra for yeast rolls.  Would not recommend this place without a food comp, but if you go bring your own wine and bread !

I absolutely cannot fathom paying some asshole $25 to open a bottle of wine. Ever. Period. It might be more tolerable if there wasn't a markup of 300% on the shit they

 sell.

Kevin - the corkage fee is a charge for when choose to bring your own bottle of wine into a restaurant in lieu of purchasing a bottle inside.

I know what it is! The second part of my comment referred to the fact that if you want wine but don't want to bring your own and pay the corkage fee, you have to buy theirs at a 300% (or worse) markup. So the corkage fee is a punishment for not buying their overpriced wine.

Bread...was...extra??? What a total lack of class on their part. Of course, it's CET, what can you expect.

The Rio was a dump twenty years ago; now, it's a deteriorated dump. CET has put absolutely no money into it.

With the cool weather in the winter months, I think having a couple bottles of wine in the car for a nice dinner might not be a bad option.  16 or 17 dollars for a glass of wine or a cocktail each plus tax vs 15 or 20 for a bottle of your favorite wine and the tax on the corkage fee. In the warmer months you would have to purchase your wine on the way to the resaurant, which would be a hassle.

I thought that everyone knew what the definition of "corkage fee" was ...
