LVA QOD 5/15/2012 -- Bakeries And Whatnot

Hi Group,

Another place for Cupcakes is Gigi's Cupcakes which is at the front of Plaza Casino in Downtown LV.

RecVPPlayer
Rec - have you tried them at the Plaza location? We went to the Gigi's on Flamingo and were disappointed with the cupcakes. There was too much (hard to believe) frosting and the cake was not moist.

We thought the ones at the Cupcakery on Eastern Avenue were much better.

Mancini also mentions Ronald's for donuts

We always order the apple fritter which in this photo is accompanied by a delicious glazed buttermilk donut.

Last trip we also visited Bread and Butter and plan on returning in a few weeks

The Danish was different, but delicious

We usually do some window shopping at Jean-Phillipe when we visit Bellagio's Conservatory and Botanical Gardens:

One of our favorites, also mentioned in the LVA's response, is Bon jour Bakery. Much better prices than at Jean-Phillipe or Payard.

I have not been in there Westie since (although I should ask them myself) I don't think that they have Kosher certification.

There are times here that I will let members know about places including restaurants because they exist that may not be Kosher because I just want to give the group information that they hopefully can use. But they should always (if they are interested in that) check out a place's Kosher certification and also other information about what's Kosher where in LV can be found through the LV Visitor's Guide at https://www.chabadlv.org and also through the Las Vegas, Nevada Metro section at https://www.shamash.org

You can imaging what it does to my waistline!

Thanks to an earlier trip report from Westie, Bon Jour Bakery is happily esconsed in my GPS - wonderful pastries. I simply am afraid to try any of these others - as was mentioned, my waistline can't take it!

I always let Westie try places first and if he gives them sufficient forks that's good enough for me ...

Oh and I just remembered that there are also baked goodies at Coffee Bean And Tea Leaf locations and some of them are in casinos (at least at Venetian, Palazzo and Palms).

Patisserie at Aria always had a huge line.........I didn't even try to get anywhere near it.
Such restraint. lol

Leopolds Pastries on W. Charleston near the RedRock does not take a backseat to anyone. Many times they are on Groupon Now.
