m buffet

just had a friend come back from the land of milk and money. he is not a foodie and said the buffet at The M went way down in quality he ate their twice, anyone else this or was it just a bad 2 days.
We really like the M buffet and the coupon made it twice as nice. But if they stop couponing and lower the quality they are shooting themselves in the foot. We will be looking for reports on quality the next few weeks. We are headed to Las Vegas 11/18/11. Even at regular price the buffet is a value but only if they keep the same standards will they keep it afloat. The word spreads just as fast when things decline and to when they are outstanding.
Does anyone else have recent personal experience at the M buffet? We went last summer and it was fantastic. We were planning on going the week of January 9th and would be willing to pay full price (no MRB coupon this year...sob...) if the variety and quality is the same as it was in the past - otherwise we will make other plans.

We ate there a few times in December and thought it was fabulous. You can't beat that wine and beer are included as well as fancy coffees. We love the selection of food as well - lots of variety.

We try to get a booth at the back because of the crowds. It was a zoo most of the time and long lines as well - especially with the email for 2/1 buffets on Monday & Tuesdays in December.

We stayed at M for four nights and the rooms are beautiful especially with a strip view. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

I already miss the 2/1 buffet coupon from the MRB but hopefully once they get their act together, Anthony can negotiate something with them for LVA members!!!

Was at the M in October and it was by far one of the better buffets in the coupon book. Very dissappointed that it is not in the 2011 book. Maybe it was just a bad two days!!
I was there in October ...for lunch was pretty good. They had a awesome spinach salad, butterfly shrimp ( I love them) and best of all a cider...not many places in Vegas have FREE cider. Very disappointed the coupon is MIA! Not sure we'll visit without it...
We were there in November for dinner. Very good we would go back but not for full price since we do not like going all the way out there.

We visited M a few times last year (lunch only) and it very good. Now if they lower the quality and there is no coupons you first consider the drive out there and we will not go as often as last year. There are some that will come close or out due M on the Strip Wynn right off the top of my head comes to mind. We need to checkout Cosmo and Aria on our trip in January and they could top the list with Wynn. There are a few others that have coupons like Mirage with coupon is a decent one---Silverton (no cooupon this year) along with GVR not quite up there however very good.
Ate the M Buffet on Christmas day with my baby boomer parents. I got in line at 2:15pm (and let them sit and gamble while I queued) and it was snaked all the way back by the brand new Hash House A-Go-Go. We finally got seated at 5:05pm, yes, it was nearly a three hour wait, but the food was good (always has been good for me) and I love the drink station with Thomas Kemper Root Beer, Coors Light, and M Cider. I was afraid that since Penn Gaming has purchased the M Resort the quality would go down in a cost cutting move (they did remove the free drink stations after all). However, the food on Christmas day was excellent, we stayed there for two hours, and really got our fill.
Ate there for lunch on 12/28. Been there probably 3 times the past several months as well. Seemed around the same, but I did notice small slippages this last time. The more expensive dishes were low or empty and took longer than usual to fill. Seafood dishes like the tuna poke and baked mussels. But its still one of the best in town, if not the best for the price. Another thing I found unusual was the long wait in the VIP line. Have never had to wait long for a lunch there while in this line. Waited over a half hour.
