Magnolia's Veranda

What are your thoughts on Magnolia's? We have never eaten there, but we are thinking of giving it a try next trip out.
Thanks.
I have had Breakfast and Lunch and it was very good.
As far as Vegas diner goes, its is one of the better ones. Sometimes the line can be long. Only had one bad meal there and when I said something, I was promptly brought a new meal (I had ordered the prime rib special and it was more fat than meat, but the second one was just fine)
I would say it's solidly average. I MUCH prefer 777 brewery over Magnolias. Both are a similar price point, but atmosphere at 777 is ten times better and food is better as well.

Magnolias is a good breakfast option though.

Agree with kiwi, it's a good, solid average coffee shop. BOGOs are very easy to come by, I think they hand them out at the door. Probably one of the better cheapo prime ribs downtown, although the quality is a bit uneven. Fair-to-good Chicago pizza, too.
There's definitely a BOGO in the ACG - don't recall whether there is in the MRB. If you're not already a member of their slot club, I think they give you a BOGO when you join.

I've stayed at the 4Q several times over the years, so I've eaten there a lot. The only thing I ever ordered that wasn't particularly good was the broiled seafood platter. Wasn't bad - just not particularly good. The sandwiches are good and I really like the pizza, especially the deep-dish pizza. If you get an entree and it comes with soup or salad, both the gumbo and the Portuguese bean soup were really good.

I'd skip the carrots that come with most of the entrees. They're pretty much always over-cooked. Other veggies are usually good.

Breakfast there is really good, especially the chicken-fried steak, with apologies to my cardiologist. The regular steak and eggs special is good, too.

And yeah, I'd put it a notch below 777, especially if you don't have a coupon. But I don't think you'll go wrong eating there.
There's a 2-for-1 for lunch/dinner at Magnolia's in both the ACG and the MRB.

Note: Not good for breakfast (no matter what time of day you order it) and neither can be used for 50% when alone.

Based on my many experiences there, the reviews are pretty much on target; it's usually good to very good; seldom great and seldom less than ok. It's good enough and reasonably priced enough to keep me going back even on trips when I'm alone. I actually enjoy breakfast best although I always make a trip to DuPars (Golden Gate) for the pancakes!

Maybe I'll try the 777 on my next trip (Feb 5-11).

p.s.
I usually have a lunch/dinner at Chicago Brewery at the Four Queens as well. IMHO, I rate it about the same as Magnolia's; that is, usually good to very good; seldom great and seldom less than ok. However, no coupons for here that I am aware of.
Waitress I have had, should have retired several decades ago. When the prime rib special offers the meat and a vege and potatoe and a salad, she should have known to ask if i want a potatoe or vege or a salad?
The menu is not very big. I think they post it at the bottom of the stairs. They have a decent, cheap prime rib...and breakfast is ok. I recall wanting a piece of pie after dinner - and they did not have any left. C'mon - whats that? Its been awhile since my last visit.

Its a pretty cool room if nothing else.
We realized on our last visit that the menu on the wall is not the complete menu. Fan tail shrimp is the one that I noticed, but there were a couple of other things that we noticed as we looked over the menu at the table. Overall, we would rate them a B+.
