Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay's) at Cesears

We are linking about going on our next trip to Mesa Grill (thier menu sounds wonderful). Has anyone been there? If so, what did you think?
You will find mixed reviews. Among many foodies while menu looks good the complaint is they have "dumbed down" the South West spices and kick a bit to much. Playing to the average patron. Also to the true aficionado of South West cuisine supposedly these are pale imitations.

On the other hand we have always had good luck there and enjoyed our meals very much. I am especially partial to the spice rubbed pork tenderloin. Service has been excellent and not overly pricey.

Though we havent tried it we know folks rave about the burger there at lunch.
Thanks, we are thinking of trying this before going to see Terry Fator!
We've eaten dinner at the Mesa Grill in Caesar's on our last two trips to LV, and highly recommend it. Like the other poster, we really enjoyed the pork tenderloin with the special sweet potato tamale. Portions are large, so plan appropriately. Loved the housemade margaritas also. Service is always professional and polished. Go enjoy it; it's a dining experience.

One really silly thing they do is make you wait for your table after you arrive on time for your reservation. They send you to a seating area right in front of the bar, and you wait about 5 minutes while they puzzle over the seating plan. This happens even if the restaurant is completely empty. We think it's a way to make you order drinks at the bar. This has happened to us time and time again when we visit the Mesa Gril.

I agree that the spices have been dumbed down. The Romaine salad no longer has that "bite," and it no longer comes with the "sheet" of crisp asiago and paramesean cheese. We still like Sophie's chopped salad, and we often make it a home.

The burger is very good, but I am not the only poster who has noted that it comes to you extremely rare.

We do not like the coffee filet. We do like the quesedilla appetizer, but it is very small.

I might eat there again, but then... maybe not.

We didn't like Mesa Grill.
Not fans of their flavors/seasoning.
I realize that we are probably not aficionados of Southwest cuisine.

I was not real hungry and I asked the server to recommend something lite.
It was a 'broth' thing in a bowl...not good.
Husband got the filet, underwhelming.
We had some vegetable dishes which WERE good.

Looking back we probably should have tried the rubbed pork tenderloin, their signature dish.

The staff was very polite.
I don't recall being made to sit at the bar.
It was real busy, but I think we got seated right away...by the kitchen.
So it was noisy to boot.
Probably won't go back, but lots of people love Mesa Grill so don't go by me.
I have really enjoyed Mesa grill. I think I have eaten there 4 times? A brunch, a lunch, and a couple of dinners. all were pretty good. haven't had any problems with the service
