I recently spent a couple of evenings in SoCal/LA. One night, I went to Roscoe's for chicken and waffles. It was wonderful. Total price including tip: $15. The next night (afternoon actually), I went to Mozza. This is Batali and Silverton's pizzeria. I spent $40 (for a pizza the size of a dinner plate and small appetizer of lentils with goat cheese). It very good. But it wasn't 3 times as good as Roscoe's. Maybe twice as good.
$500 per person for a meal. If money doesn't matter, then it's worth it. I think you could easily top $500 at Joel Robuchon's place.
