Paula Deen Restaurants

I see that Caesars has cut ties with Paula Deen and will be revamping the restaurants at the casinos in which she had her name. I hope they are consistent in their actions by banning all entertainers that also use that word and other things that demean people.
I agree.Including the rappers and hip hop artists that use the N word and demean women in their lyrics.
It's more than her use of the word, folks. It's how she used it, combined with a lot of other things she's apparently said, and her collapsed market value as an endorser. If you think it's just because the sound of that word came out of her mouth, you really don't get it. At all.

Nevertheless, you needn't worry about a DMX Cupcake Shoppe at Sam's Town Tunica any time soon.
How she used it? She used it to her husband about someone holding a gun to her head over 30 years ago. Her problem was being too honest in the deposition.

Okay, your issue is you don't know what you're talking about.

You're unaware that she said she used that particular word many times after the robbery.

You're unaware of her plan to recreate a Southern Plantation-style wedding complete with black middle-aged male waiters in white jackets and black bow ties, in a manner that reminds her of the American South before the Civil War, a time and place where blacks were kept as human slaves.

You're unaware that she described the employee who's suing her as a "piece of pussy".

I hope this will help you start knowing what you're talking about.
Those who live in glass houses......
If they close all the restaurants of folks who have used words they shouldn't have, in any context, and they do the same to casinos........folks, there would be NO Las Vegas. Matter of fact, there probably wouldn't be much of anything, anywhere. Simple as that
She apologized...end of story.
She apologized...end of story.
Get over it.

The restaurants aren't going to close. Instead, the restaurants' owners will invoke the morals clauses in the contracts that they signed with Ms. Deen, take her name off the signs, come up with a new name, and keep serving food.

Losing the name "Paula Deen" as a marketing device does not threaten the continued viability of the restaurant industry.

Simple as that.
