We were staying at the Rio and decided to try a locals place which has garnered nothing but great on-line reviews hence we decided to try it TWICE! The restaurant is called the Polaris Cafe and is located just behind the Rio in the industrial area. In fact, you can easily walk from the back of the Rio (convention area) to the cafe and it would take about 5-10 minutes to get there (Strangely enough , it is located very close to the offices of Las Vegas Advisor).

This hole-in-the-wall serves breakfast and lunch. The portions are huge and the food is very good. I would classify the food similar to Hash-House-A-Go-Go. The quality and portion size make this a very good value.

What I found very unusual was that while we were sitting there, no new patrons walked in, but the cook kept getting numerous orders. I guess they do a huge delivery business to local businesses.

I highly recommend this for some good comfort food at a great price. You won't be disappointed.
