Red Rock buffet

Can I get any feedback on the buffet at the Red Rock,
Our friends went for the dinner buffet and said it was OK for the price,
I would like to know about lunch or breakfast.

I spent a few nights at Red Rock and tried their buffet for lunch.

I think their buffet was okay, but not worth the additional price over Aliente's. They had chicken pieces at every station, they had 3 macaroni dishes and large station of just potatoes. It's a very average buffet.
We went for breakfast in May and thought it was very good. The room is very nice and there were several items not normally found at a breakfast buffet. One of which was a pulled pork and egg burrito which was excellent. The only dish I did not care for were the spinach and mushroom mini quiches. The $4.99 price combined with the MRB 2/1 buffet coupon renders this buffet an absolute steal.

The breakfast price is $5.99, Westie. They raised it, as did GVR. The other 6 Stations are still $4.99 for breakfast.

I think the key is: the buffets at the Stations are pretty standardized now. There are some differences (Red Rock has sushi, though someone said the options were limited and when I was there, I never saw anyone in front of that area) from place to place, but what I saw at Red Rock looked A LOT like what I saw at Aliente or Sunset.

My perception: same food at Red Rock as Aliente or Sunset but a higher price. Use a half price coupon or if you're a senior go on Wednesday, it's a good deal. Especially if you, as I did at Aliente, hit the breakfast late so you get the change-over to lunch Then you're paying $2.50 for a nice brunch.

If you're at Red Rock, eat there. It doesn't pay you to drive to another Station. But, I wouldn't drive out to Red Rock to have their buffet when Sunset or Aliente (haven't been to Santa Fe) is as close or closer.

I agree.

Agreed as well. Station has perfected the average buffet! Red rock being slightly better than the rest
Thanks, my friend were seniors, and I think they went on senior day, (Wednesday, thanks for that reminder)
I appreciate all the feedback and will probably go on a Wednesday.

The Mexican section rocks- and I adore watermelon.
Look for these odd seseame dough balls in the Asian section-special to Stations buffet ONLY.
I ziplock those by the 10s and 20s- desserty things to eat in the room.

worth the price but not the drive....
10s and 20s, Cat? How big are those ziplocks anyway?
And are those dough balls filled with a darkish beanlike paste that's slightly sweet?
