Thanks, westie - Maza looks like it might be worth a try. If you like Mediterranean there's also a great place on Decatur just north of Sahara: Amena Bakery and Deli - a "must" for us every trip....

We stopped in at Amena on our last trip looking for fatayar, preferably spinach or meat, but they only had cheese
so we took a pass and ended up at Mary's Hash House on Decatur. The crust on the fatayer looked light and fluffy so we will give it another try on a weekend when there might be more of a seleciton.

I don't know how Maza manages to stay in business. It was empty on Friday night when we dined there and, given the problems Curtas encountered, it doesn't look like business has improved. Unlike him, we enjoyed
the Sultan's Delight.

The spinach fatayer at Amena is great! Also, if you like dessert try their excellent vegan baklava.....

Heaven forbid no, I just check for reviews posted on blogs and newsletters. If we
happened to have eaten at a reviewed restaurant, I have recently started posting photos
from our meals.
