Can anyone give me any type of review on Samba Brazillian Steakhouse at the Mirage. My Husband and I are going to be in Vegas to celebrate our 60th Birthday's and would like to try something different, like the Brazillian BBQ. Any info will help.
Ate there about three years ago. Not a good experience. The hostess seated us near the slot machines when there were many empty tables away from the slots. It is not enclosed so the noise carries. It was fairly noisy, not the atmosphere we were looking for. Service fair to poor. Meat was over seasoned and I really didn't find a cut that I liked. I do remember I disliked the fried plantains. The wife and I agreed that we would not return. I was really looking forward to the experience after many friends had talked of similar places like Fago de Chao but I'd much rather go to a nice steakhouse. Craftsteak or Tender were both good, the former was the better but more expensive. I'd also try Heritage Steak(haven't been to yet) at Mirage before Samaba. IMHO.
There is a Fogo De Chao restaurant located on Flamingo a couple of blocks east of the Strip; near Lawry's Prime Rib. I've dined at their Minneapolis restaurant and always had great food and service.
Thank You All for your input this helps a lot in our decision Not to try a Brazillian Steakhouse in Vegas, but in our home town San Diego. We have a couple here that have 4 to 5 star rating. We plan to dine at one of the many fine Steakhouse in Vegas. Can't wait only 20 more days.
