The South Point Buffet

I've done the Bacchanal, the Wynn (before the re-opening), the Bellagio (years ago) buffets.  For me, none is worth the hassle.  But then I don't like buffets much, basically on account of the hassle.   Give me a nice little cafe any time, but then there are few of those left.

Very soon, at the Bacchanal, Wynn, and Bellagio, you will be able to rent a buffet robot. You can sit comfortably at your table and order a drink while the robot wheels over to the buffet stations, obeying your oral instructions. It will send pictures of the food to your phone and load it onto plates at your command and in as large or small quantities as you want. It can carry eight full plates at a time, allowing you to indulge in dozens of selections simultaneously. 

The introductory pricing for the robots will be only $200 per hour, and you don't need to tip them! An upgrade that is still in the works is a joystick control (for a modest additional $75) that will allow you to crash the robot into other diners who are returning from the buffet with loaded plates. Fun!

Las Vegas has more cafes then my city.I do like buffet.I also like cafes.There our very few in my city except chains.

I guess the old term or concept for "cafe" is "coffee shop," and if you look back at menu archives, just about every casino had one.  Jerry's Nugget has one of the best old-school coffee shops that I've run into, worth a trip.

Very true about the coffee shops.  This was one of the decent comps you could get....most people got buffet comps for play, but if you played quite a bit and asked, like Jean Scott always said, you might get a Coffee Shop comp.  

If you want an old-time coffee shop with decent prices, go to a locals' casino--preferably one of the less fancy ones. Emerald Island and Rainbow both have excellent cafes, with comfort food menus and great specials.

You used to be able to find that sort of thing downtown, but Magnolia's, Siegel's, Binion's, Hash House, etc. are all ridiculously overpriced now.

Stations casinos all have cafes and there are some good specials afloat. Arizona Charlies (both) has a good cafe as well.

Lest I sound like a broken record...Emerald Island, two eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns or country potatoes, toast or biscuit and gravy, slice of fruit...$5.49. Coffee, $2.49. The last $8 breakfast (that includes coffee) in town.
