South Point Buffet Open

This has been open now for a few weeks, and hope other locals casinos follow.  We have been for breakfast and lunch.  Masks are required when walking around, and all food items are served up by the employees, but everyone is so happy, friendly and right there to serve with plenty of choices.  Seating is socially distanced of course.

That is good news.

I had the breakfast on July 16 and it was impressive...and a good price.  Omelet station was the same, everything else was staff served...hard to pick out the crispy bacon, but maybe I shouldn't have as much.

Candy's husband says"Don't go cheap on me!"

Gimme a LOT of food!

Little bowls of food?I want the entire roast beef.A whole chicken!

What's for lunch?

Dave, hubs would charm some extra bowls or something out of them first round.  He is really good at it.

When I ate at the South Point buffet, I found that I was overserved with whatever I chose to eat. Ay 5' 10'' and 175 pounds, I was hard pressed to eat all that I was given. Everything I received was portioned out with tongs or large spoons -the only bowls I found were in the desert section.

We went again for lunch yesterday.  There was a tiny bit of a line to get in, but it moved quickly and there was no line to get the desired food options.  Obviously, they have more employees than they used to, but all the servers seemed genuinely happy to help and to have a job.  The offererings, other than choice of lettuces and salad stuff, were plentiful and not lacking at all.  They still had the soups, fish offerings, carving, Italian, Mexican, chicken, cook to order Mongolian, etc.  The area in the middle where they do the morning omelettes, they were making reuben sandwiches, which my husband said were wonderful.  Last time  we were there for lunch a few weeks ago, they were making shrimp tacos which were the best we ever had, so that probably changes daily.  You really have to give it to Michael Gaugan for really getting this up and going.  I sure wish other casinos would do that.   Glad Anthony Curtis put them in the top 10!

Have to agree. My wife and I had breakfast in the buffet a couple of times since the reopening. The servers are extremely attentive and all my favorites were there for the asking. My wife really liked the very short lines at the omelet station.
