South Point Coffee Shop Specials

I see that the 10 oz. prime rib special at the Coronado Cafe has been a steady in the LVA top 10. Any comments from anyone on the 16 oz. porterhouse special, also at the Coronado Cafe?
The porterhouse is good. The midnight specials are a better value in my opinion.
That may be, but for old farts like me, it's getting tougher and tougher to stay up that late.
I agree with Calipso. The midnight specials are great deals. For the last couple of years the Coronado Cafe has ran there midnight specials 12-6am. My wife and I own a timeshare right next to Southpoint(the grandview). Anyway, my point Bobbyb is we can't stay up till midnight either. So we get up early and get over there around 5:45-5:50am and still get the great specials. That alwalys is an option. That's if your a morning person that is.

Can't beat a $5 steak & eggs. I usually tip 100% if the service is good because $10 for a late night meal can't be beat.
Bob: FWIW, I thought the porterhouse was ok but the prime rib was better. The phouse was a bit tougher with a bit more gristle than I expected. And I'm not a bit fussy about what I eat, so that's saying somethin'. I'll be sticking to the prime rib in future trips to SP.

Thanks. I was wondering why a 10 ounce PR would exceed a 16 ounce porterhouse. I'm a big fan of those extra six ounces.

Every prime rib dinner I've had has been way bigger than 10 ounces.

Interesting. I guess I was leaning to the steak also because we will likely eat at Primarily Prime Rib anyway, and with the 2fer, it's cheaper than the coffee shop.
There is a coupon for Strictly Prime Rib (2nd floor next to the mexican restaurant at South Point) where you can get one meal comped. I had a steak...my wife had liver and it was very, very good. They also had a wine special where we got a bottom of Santa Ema Merlot for $20...good wine/good value.

In addition, you can get $2 tequilia drinks (anything from Patron or name it) at the bar right outside the restaurant. If you do go to the mexican restaurant, be sure to grab a couple marquritas to take in with you which is perfectly OK to do.
