Hey LVA'ers.....
I am sure I am preaching to the choir, but I thought I would share a tip/insight/fact......
If you are after really cheap drinks, and I mean cheap drinks, then you need to check out the Side Door Pub which is located across the street from Bally's and in the same parking lot as Battista's Italian Restaurant.
We are talking about drinks for as low as $1 and call brands of liquor cost $3 - $5 per drink. They don't accept credit cards. I was staying at the RIO for a convention and had been socializing with some of the fellow attendees at the casino bar (and paying $7-10 a drink).
We decided to check the strip out and I suggested we go for something a bit more value orientated. We headed over to the Stage Door Pub and one of the guys said he would cover the 1st round of drinks. After getting our drinks, he handed over his credit card. The bartender told him that they only accept cash but "... you'll be happy with our prices.". He handed over a $100 bill and was expecting little change. But, when he counted his money the round of 8 drinks cost him about 17 dollars!. Needless to say, a bunch of these first timers to the Stage Door enjoyed it so much, they came back the following night.
Heck, they even have a hot dog and PBR beer for $3. The crowd is a real mixture of tourists and locals. There is nothing fancy about this place, but if you want a cheap drink and you are in the vicinity, you need to check this place out.
