Suncoast Food Hall

Don't know about the time frames we're all referring to, but the Suncoast was the only buffet I've ever simply walked out of. ALL the food was badly cooked, had been out there too long, or was simply of poor quality. I remember wondering how they could even keep the place open.

The irony, and the saving grace, was that their coffee shop was very good and had a unique menu

The Suncoast was a good buffet because it was free.  Leave it to Kevin to find something negative.

Free??? In what universe? If you mean that you could get comps easily, sure ..but comps are not free by any stretch of the imagination.

And my opinion of the food they offered wasn't "something negative." It was from my experience in three separate visits before I gave up.

Sorry about your luck at the Suncoast Kevin.  It seems like for whatever reason that happens to you a lot.  I think it ranked above the Texas Station and the Fiesta Rancho, Gold Coast and South point buffets.  And with the 2 for 1 LVA coupon or the earn 200 points for a free buffet this one was a no brainer for the salad bar alone.

Well, it was quite a while ago ..probably around 2003. I gave it three shots because my poor experience could have just been a one-off.

The reason I was there at all (I lived far away, in Henderson) was that they had good VP and some excellent point multiplier promos. Then, I kept showing up and finding that a bank of good machines had been replaced or downgraded. So I stopped making the drive.

As I mentioned, at least the coffee shop was good, and it had an excellent seating arrangement and decor. The steak house was terrific, with a big balcony window looking out on the peasants down below in Vegas (from the border of Summerlin).

I haven't been in there for quite some time, what with my boycott of Boyd when they became the first casino in Vegas to award players zero points. And they stripped me down from the Emerald tier to Filthy Pointless Peasant. May they contract Boyd Flu.
