Vic & Anthony's

Probably going to be eating at Vic & Anthony's next week. Any thoughts or recommendations? I'm mainly interested in the quality of the steaks.
I have been there twice, and I have enjoyed Vic & Anthony's both times. I might suggest, if you're not already a Landry's Select member, sign up. You pay $25.00 up front, but get it back in a food credit, which can be applied to your bill. Then, you earn points with every purchase at Landry's properties. If you're staying at the Golden Nugget, it entitles you to VIP check in, and potential room upgrades. Read their fine print. Do it, you won't be disappointed.

I got the bone in ribeye. No sauces, just salt and pepper for me, please. A couple of sides, a few Grey Goose, super dry, extra dirty martinis and you're set.

Then you'll love eating there...
I was very impressed. Had a fabulous strip steak with a big honkin' baked potato. It was one of the best strip steaks i've ever had. As I was traveling solo and did not want to wait on a table, I ate at the bar. I'm really glad I did. I wanted a port after dinner and confessed my ignorance, asking for a recommendation. The bartender gave me tastes of several different ports with explanations of each. She then let me taste ice wine, which I'd never heard of. It was a wonderful experience.

What are the prices like?

FYI if you take a look at the Landry's select website, the VIP check in and room upgrades have been removed from the list of benefits of the card. I noticed this a few weeks ago.
Since this is at a Landry's location, at least from what I've read, if you have an Auto Club (AAA) card, check if they offer a discount for showing them that.

As far as I know, with Landry's owned places, you can get a 10% discount on everything (except Alcohol) by showing them your Auto Club Card.

That is interesting. Maybe they were just upgrading the website, but, as I see it right now:

"Landry's Select Club members enjoy exclusive rates at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas

Rush Tower rates $79 (Sun-Thurs) and $109 (Fri-Sat)
Now - June 30, 2012.
Exclusive Landry's Select Club rates also available for Carson Tower and Gold Tower rooms.

Your stay includes 2 Show Tickets to either Gordie Brown Live or Country Superstars Tribute.

Plus, Landry's Select Club Members receive a Complimentary Room Upgrade with VIP Check-In*

Book Online or call 800-634-3454 and mention code LDRYGNS.

*VIP check-in and Upgrade are based on availability, and are not available during holiday periods. Blackout dates may apply. Please mention that you are a Landry's Select Club member when booking your reservation by calling 800-634-3454. Upgrade will be given at time of check-in and may not be reserved in advance. Landry's Select Club card must be shown to hotel agent to receive offer. Management reserves all rights. Guests are responsible for $3.00 Live Entertainment Tax on each complimentary show ticket."

I know I booked a bit ago, and I am entitled, as per my reservation, VIP check-in. It would be a shame if they have removed it.

I am heading to Las Vegas on Monday. I am not staying at the GN (in-laws are putting us up in their time share.) I am planning Anniversary dinner at V&A's and will inquire at that time, and post back what I know.
As of last Thursday, asking at the VIP in the GN, Landry's Select members still have the VIP Check-In. Will update again in August, when I visit.
