Vic & Anthony's

They have the best filets I've ever eaten and I'm from the midwest where cow is king. I also recommend the mac and cheese.

Just had our anniversary dinner there on Thursday. I got the bone-in ribeye (as, per usual) and it was awesome. Wife had the prime ribeye, and she was happy. We shared the special mashed potatoes, which included lobster. Mmmm....mmmmm. Very happy.
My wife and I stayed last February at the Golden Nugget and got a free upgrade to a 2-bedroom spot. They had a dinner special flyer in our room on Tuesday or Wednesday(don't remember the exact day) for a 3-course menu for $46.99 per person. Since we are from Texas our beef requirements are pretty picky. My wife decided to treat me to dinner at Vic's since neither one of us had ever dined there before. The special menu for hotel guests featured 3 or 4 main course items to choose from. About the same number of sides which counted as a course, with a few desserts for the 3rd and final course. I decided on the 8 oz. filet while my wife went for salmon. Both courses were flawlessly prepared and delicious. As a side I had the scalloped potatoes that were as good as I've ever tasted. My wife got the huge baked potato with everything on it. Don't remember the desserts exactly except to know that we both really enjoyed them! We didn't order any wine because the markup on their wine prices at V & A's is very high. I'm in the wine trade and know what those wines can be had for. The waiter that served us was very courteous and helpful during our entire meal. Water glasses were always full. The seating to me was kind of cramped as the tables in the front window of the room are situated close together. Just be prepared to bring a fat wallet if you order regular menu items and wine. But this place is as good as any that come to mind back home: Del Frisco's, Nick & Sam's, Pappas Brothers, Ruths Chris, etc... If we find ourselves back at the Golden Nugget we will revisit V & A's if we get another nightly special for in-room guests.
