More misinformation by kevin.

She didn't "quote" the $8 pizza slice as cheap, as Tom puts it, but it was in a YouTube segment called "CHEAP EATS." So she was implying that it was cheap.

For $8 one gets a slice plus what looks like a 12-16 oz glass of beer.  Thats a pretty good deal.

The dead giveaway is that she waltzed right past a number of places that actually do have cheap eats

And what were those places?

Tom, I know that you don't like that my political views differ from yours and that I continually point out how you don't understand statistics. But you should keep your obsessive hatred of me out of these forums. Save it for the Sink if you must.

No hatred here.

You said the $8 slice was not cheap, but chose to ignore that for $8 one gets a slice & a 12-16 glass of beer which makes it a good deal.

Again

The dead giveaway is that she waltzed right past a number of places that actually do have cheap eats.

You claim to have a vast knowledge of Vegas & said she walked past cheap places.  I asked you for the names of those places so people can go to those.

You chose to get your panties in a twist over that & are unable to back up your claim that her reviews are biased or is it because that once again your statements were found to be untrue?

No, Tom. A slice of pizza is 1/8 of a whole, which equates to a $64 entire pizza, which is NOT a good deal for a cheese pizza. And a 12-ounce glass of domestic beer is maybe worth $2. So I don't consider that a good deal. Maybe you do. Hooray for you.

While watching her videos I noticed that she walked past literally dozens of places that had cheaper and better food that those she was flogging. Did I make a list? No. Do I care whether you believe me or not? No. Do I follow your orders? No.

No restaurant sells beer for $2 & the average price for a slice is $4-$5.

Hey Patricia, wish I could remember it.  1965 I was a senior in High School!  Almost 60 years ago, probably gone by my first Vegas initiation.  I remember a very nice Italian eatery inside of Harrah's, circa 1992 or so.  I liked their food a lot, especially one of their entrees, though hardcore Italian food readers panned it as not Ital-authentic enough.  So be it.  Oh, yeah, they let me know I didn't belong in an LVA-food discussion.  LOL.

Apologies for interrupting the mud fight about pizza and beer prices.  Na na na na na.

It was a nice thread, your topic.

Yeah, sorry Patricia and Candy, Tom wasn't legitimately arguing or making any kind of point; he was just stalking me, as is his obsessive habit. I shouldn't dignify his crap with a response.

I think the "Steer" or "The Golden Steer" might have been the name of that restaurant...?

Oh, and as far as "authentic" Italian food is concerned...like every other ethnic cuisine, the American version of Italian food is quite a bit different from "native" Italian food. For one thing, Italy's Italian food is MUCH more seafood-centric. And of course, Italian pizza and American pizza barely resemble each other. I went to Europe with my family three times in the 1970s and 80s and was amazed at how different the original versions of European cuisines were from the American versions.

I believe the restaurant in question might be the Rosewood which was open a long time & fits the description.  It closed a few years ago & was in the area of the Sands on the east side of the strip.  it was very good.

The Golden Steer is on Sahara on the west side of the strip. It is located in a strip mall & looks like a dump from the outside, but is very good & good luck trying to get a reservation.  I believe it has been open since the 50's

Very likely Rosewood. I remember seeing it before it closed. Yet didn't

make a connection Because in 1965 Las Vegas wasn't surrounded by

huge Casinos.

It was difficult to find Rosewood in recent years

I did a little research on Rosewood

and apparently it moved from the

closer to the Sands area.

pretty sure it was the the place

i worked at the sweet age of 21

short time.
