Watch out for the bread!!!!

Did they pull it, Judy?

Yeah, but in the case of LVA there's definitely more than one.
Not yet.

Have the temp crown right now .

Go to the perio and implant guy next Tues.

Went to and endo guy today after my dentist... he said
no way can it be saved. It's split down the middle of the nerve.

I'm hitting Ak-chin next Moday, pain or not, then home on Tues.
in time to go to the implant guy. Have to have my fun first.

Gamble first, teeth and pain later.
Bye the way, the last time we came home a winner of
about $5000, Paul had to get hearing aides to the tune
of over $4000.
This time we came home winner of over $5000 and I'll
need dental work to the tune of over $4000.
God help me if we ever win $20,000 for a $5.00 ROYAL.
Who knows what aweful bill will await us!!!
Retirement can really suck, but only if you let it!!!!
Well, at least you had the money there from the wins!

Sorry you have to lose the tooth and get an implant. I hope it goes really easy for you in all aspects of the process!

I've got a couple of teeth like yours.... I busted mine polevaulting and dirt bike riding but somehow crusty bread makes a better story!! The dentist's broach sucks but they have to boar that hole in da bone and remove the dead nerve for the steel post. Bring on the nitrous!!!

TB -- maybe my pain was from having both the implant and an extraction done that day. The novacaine and lidocaine (they used both) started wearing off while I was waiting for my prescription to be filled and it was already getting to be intolerable. The oral surgeon told me before I left the office that I should take one of the pain pills as SOON as I got them. He wasn't kidding, but that Vicodin did nothing. I added and 800mg ibuprofen to it and that helped, but still didn't kill all of the pain. I iced my jaw as much as I possibly could. They did bone grafts where they extracted the tooth and I'm supposed to wait 6 to 12 months to get another implant in THAT area. After this pain, I'm not sure I can do it! BTW, I'm pretty tolerant of pain -- I've gotten fillings without any novacaine before (I hate needles).

Sorry to hijack your thread, Judy!

I agree with Mare's assessment about the comment being rude. It's not like Judy gave a long-winded attack on the restaurant. She just reported an unfortunate story of what happened to her. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Thanks Alexlifeson,

Yes, I do not blame the restaurant. I did not report it as I was
trying to celebrate my birthday.
It took a few days to actually realize that I had done some damage.
Even at that I waited.

Paul's bread was good, mine not so good. His teeth are bad, that would have
been aweful.
My dentist stands behind me with the health of all my teeth
in spite of what others may say that I'm old and weak.

I accept the fact that the implant is the only way to go, painful as it may be,
I've been in pain since then. So have others who have experienced the same sort of thing.

M did contact me. The 'Risk Manager' was very business like and certainly looking to
uphold the rights of M. She said since they had no evidence on their side and that there was nothing they could do to help me. Next time, please report the incident. She wanted to know what I did with the bread.
Give me a break, I put it back on the plate.

My mistake, my suffering, and my cost. Guess that sets me back a few trips to Las Vegas.
We are retired, no dental insurance so it comes out of our fun money.

Any way. I choose to drop this with the casino and with those who
wish to critisize me. As I said, no blame but mine for being stupid.

JUDY
You aren't stupid, Judy.
Thanks Mare,
Maybe stupid is the wrong word, but if I had
reacted differently, the financial outcome might have been different.
Any way, it will soon be behind me and as Tennis bum says, the tooth
will be as good as new.
Judy
Having an unfortunate accident while biting into bread is definitely NOT stupid. Had you intentionally bit the plate itself, then that might be a different story.
