At the top of this forum was/is an advertisement for Wawa. What the heck is Wawa? The sandwiches they show look pretty good.Anybody what this is? Thanks
Wawa is the Lenilape (sp) word for a Canadian Goose. That is the very first thing I learned when I started my training as a WAWA store Manager. I no longer work for them, as they pulled out of CT a few years ago. Their sandwiches are fresh and made to order, just stay away from the meatballs
We live in Ohio, but visit New Jersey every year. The Wawa is the best! All the food is prepared to order, kind of like a Subway, but better. I wish we had one in Ohio.
A Wawa is a type of shore bird, by the way. The first time I heard the word, boy was I confused.
Wawa's coffee is awesome. Being from Philly suburbs (where Wawa started) there is nothing that even compares to Wawa. Clean & courteous staff. They are now down south Fla., etc. I wish they would put one in Vegas!!

I always go to the WAWA in Ocean City NJ for morning coffee when we're there on vacation. I walk about a mile down to the store. Coming from a rural area in PA it was a learning experience. The 1st time there was a Sunday morning and there were two separate long lines moving quickly, when I got to the counter I grabbed a paper and I did not have my money ready and boy did I hear it from everyone else in line! I slowed the line by about 15-20 seconds, totally unacceptable. It never happened again!
this transplant from nj wishes they'd expand but unlikely. they're strictly mid-atlantic region: nj, pa, md, de, va. not even in ny. BUT they are in fl because of the snowbirds.
