Since in LVRJ would assume this is all locals so makes sense. This mirrors most any other big city. Small, local restaurants with a following rarely get mentioned. A single restaurant cant compete with with a well established chain. Even if 100 percent of those who dine at a local place love it and vote for it they are overwhelmed by the numbers game where as little as 1 percent of those who go vote for it. This is why, for example, I prefer our little local weekly shopper type newspaper and the votes they print. Much more likely for the unique places to actually win!
Ditto what Marc said.
Plus the fact that those places ARE all fairly consistently good, the reason they they have stood the test of time. Sometimes, after big bucks spent at an over hyped gourmet place, I wished we'd just gone to Outback or Olive Garden instead.

Given what many here choose for food on vacation, I'm not surprised that locals opt for similar crap.
Let's not forget that locals do not spend their time on the strip like we do. They know where to get good value for their money, most don't live off comp dollars like we do when we visit.

Jennifer
It has nothing to do with Strip/no Strip or comps; I'm not much of a comp-y, btw. Such "polls" in every town will turn up nearly the exact same results.
That list is complete BS....come on, my kids like Olive garden! That's just wrong....
Applebees being on any best list other than best restaurant to recommend to your ex-mother in law
These polls are not true polls. Every newspaper in the country does them and they are completely manipulated and BS. The polls allow for you to vote as many times as you like....so the manager of the local chain will vote for his specific restaurant as the best in the entire city...and he and his staff will vote 100 times each.

According to a similat poll in Indianapolis Hardees is the best place to get a burger....and not just any Hardees - its a very specific Hardees at a very specific location.
