Wynn buffet re-opening..sort of

https://news3lv.com/news/local/wynn-las-vegas-to-reopen-buffet-by-serving-directly-at-tables

instead of loading your own plate you tell a server what you want and they go get it for you.

Sorry, that sounds ridiculous to me.      Either open the buffets or leave them closed.    This hybrid thing is a little crazy

I do wonder if the "servers" will pile layers of food on top of other food on the plate.  Or, will they tell the customer to get another plate and come back.  Rant over.

I won't complain about how this casino attempts to comply with social distancing.  They are truly between a rock and a hard place.  Damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

Addressing Beachbum's comments, I suspect that a place such as Wynn will present the food to look nice.  They will not overload the plate as many patrons would if piling things on themselves.  It'll simply take another plate or two to satisfy.

Perhaps the system will direct patrons from cashier through the food line then to your appointed table.  No plates anywhere.  The idea being "look over what is there and decide what to tell your server what you want.   Server brings food 30 minutes later (at best).

Hmm, I can do that right now.  Eggs, bacon, hashed browns, gravy, melon.  For supper, Fried chicken thigh, fried okra, corn, egg rolls, lo mein, ice cream,  Maybe some ribs if they look good.  But I sure won't pay Wynn's prices for it.  LOL.

Add 45 minutes if you want an omelet.

It won't be the same, and sure as hell won't be worth paying for.
