Not surprised. I never tried their new buffet-with-table-service hybrid but it sure sounded crazy
I won't miss it. Comped to it a couple of times, otherwise would never pay their price.
Felt like the proverbial cattle call. Hustle, hustle, head 'em up, move 'em out. Nothing special food wise. Would have been interesting to experience the new process, for my 2 cents. LOL.
Now I wonder what they will do with the space?

They should look at going the staff served model being used at South Point. We were there last Monday and it seems to work just fine. I just hold my plate out over the desired food item and they keep filling the plate until I stay stop. All of the employees seemed fine with that. Must wear a mask when away from your table. They have a staffer that enforces that mandate and will not let you into the food area without.
Or go the way of the Wicked Spoon which is small plate format with staff serving at each station. One of our favorites with a more moderate price ($35 or so). We were there re-opening day in June and been back a few times. Great staff that treats you like a king, at least in the buffet. But use the casino at your own risk because they have had some major COVID issues with their dealers staff.
If folks want to try another hybrid all you can eat, try the Butlers Brunch at the La Cave in the Wynn. Servers walk around with various small plates of entrees that you can sample at will. Be prepared to spend at least an hour if not more so you can sample the entire menu including deserts. Great staff and really good food. Usually a lot of people there and it can get really loud as folks definitely have a good time there. Pricey though, right around $50 bucks per. I eat my $50 worth, my wife not so much.
