$25 matchplay

I think the hesitation is if you are a $5 better, do you jump to $25 to max the bet. Be careful doing that at BJ as you can get a hand that calls for splitting, or doubling down or maybe even both. Happened to me at The Orleans. $25 bet plus MP. Get a pair of 8s against a small card. I ask how to split? Am told it will be another $25, I cant match the MP on the other hand. So I have $25 plus the MP on an 8 and get a 3. Dealer tells me I can double for the full $50. I do and draw a low card. Get a deuce on the other hand and double up and get a nine. I now have $125 and a MP on the hand. Back then I was a $3 El Cortez regular. Dealer busted, but it was nerve-racking.

Good Advice. Seems like there are more matchplays for downtown. Thats where we normally stay!
