4 Queens - which rooms are best?

We've only stayed there once before and I don't remember much about the room, except it didn't have the most comfortable bed.

Can anyone recommend a specific floor or area that has been recently remodeled? Do they have more than one tower, and if so, is one better than the other?

The things I'm looking for are a clean shower and a comfortable bed.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

My wife and I stayed there last September and was assigned a room on the 7 floor. My only criteria was to stay away from Fremont street and the noise from the stage between The 4 queens and Fitzgeralds.
The room had four walls and a tv, which is what I paid for ($29 a night), and it was clean. The bed was the worst bed ever! it was extreamly soft and on an angle where my feet felt like they were 6 inches above my head. To make it thru the night, I actually slept with my head at the foot end of the bed
We went to the front desk the next morning to ask for a new mattress and while in line I heard an older gentlman complaining of a water leak coming thru the ceiling from the floor above in his room.
When I asked for a new mattress they appologised and assigned me a whole new room on the 12 floor. The mattress there was also very soft but I struggeled thru.
I would only stay at the 4 queens again if I was given a good mattress. Both the fremont and Plaza have good mattresses.

I have no idea whether any of the rooms at Four Queens have been remodeled, but I do make sure to get a room in the tower that is away from a lot of the noise that comes from Fremont Street (which is the South Tower if I remember correctly). The elevators to the tower that is away from Fremont Street are right by the Hotel Check-in area.

Yes, that is the South Tower and I find much more preferable than the North Tower. I agree that the mattresses can be a bit soft.

I've only stayed there once, which was last year. My room was in the north tower, but about 8-10 rooms removed from the FSE, so noise was not a problem. The room looked to have been redone recently as everything was fresh and new. My bed was decent (I like a firm one). My only complaint was seating. The only chairs were straight back wood dining type. I like to take a break in late afternoon to watch news and sip a scotch. A nice apholstered chair would have been nice. Other than that, I liked the room. They are small, but should be no problem for one or two people.

Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for the help and advice.
Stayed there 3 years ago in the north tower right above the FSE. Noise didn't bother me as I was never in me room before 2AM. The room was average but clean. Over all good quality for price. Will be staying there again March 28th- April 1st.
Just a note to remind everyone to play the 4 Queens coupons. They give you a sheet as you enter near the giant slot machine. East Fremont St entry I believe. It's almost like they are handing you $50 in cash. Free play, First card an Ace, MP. Easy play- great value.
Thanks for the reminder. This is the first trip ever when we're actually going to use our matchplay coupons, so we will try to take advantage of those coupons sheets as well.
