Airfare Promotion

Getting the Vegas Itch again (the good kind, not the LVC after a 3 night stay kind) but the same issue keeps me from returning more than 1-2x a year; airfare.

Looking 4-5 months out, the average weekend flight from Atlanta to Vegas hovers around $600 (cheaper if you're willing to take the 6 am Tuesday flight, but not much)

Has a casino ever offered an "airfare rebate" type of promotion? You provide a flight receipt and they give you half the cost in chips/free play/upgrades/food. Im sure there would be some restrictions, but if I saw The D or California offer this kind of promotion, I would book there first.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that there are some casinos (but I don't know which ones they are) who will comp airfare if a person is willing to play for enough $ for enough of a time (but I don't know how much "enough" is in this instance).

Marko62 I just checked Atlanta on Southwest and it was only 300 RT what airlines are you flying? I live in FL and it is not that high .

Im a Delta guy. Always been a fan, call it loyalty.

Various weekends (Thursday to Sunday) from ATL in February are just $208-$366 RT N/S on United, Delta, American, and Frontier. Spirit has even lower posted rates, but fees and delays are rough with them.

Check Kayak.com, you don't have to pay anything close to $600 at the moment.
I agree, at least for the last 3-4 years, bargain airfare has been hard to find. and it HAS kept me from visiting vegas as much.. I went from 3-4 times a year, down to 1 or 2. when fuel prices drop, that does not always translate to lower fares right away. however, the ceo of Southwest was on tv today saying that it should soon start to show up in the form of lower fares. I am tentatively planning 3 trips for 2016, april, may, and august. I cant speak from experience, but I would think that if a casino is paying for all or part of your airfare, then you are spending (losing) a lot of money at the casino. when I am looking at fares, I check almost daily, they really do fluctuate a lot.
- Thanks for the heads up, Ill keep an eye on Kayak. As mentioned, Im loyal to Delta, (we have family that works for the company) and plus, I like the in flight amenities. Not a knock on Southwest, but the "general" boarding made me anxious the few times I have flown with them. I think I got a good price, but spent another $50 or so to get first on.

My friend got an offer from either Wynn or CET (I forget which) that included full reimbursement of airfare. Just one time as far as I know. She couldn't do the dates of the offer.

Never in my life have I received an airfare offer to a Las Vegas casino. Again, this is the friend who hadn't been to Vegas in 12 years, all the while I was pounding away in Vegas. Perhaps hers was a "we want you back" marketing ploy.

Laughlin, Reno, Lake Tahoe, New Orleans, and several other CET casinos in the midwest yes for me, but never Vegas.

I understand your loyalty to Delta, because I feel that way about Southwest. Plus, with SWA you can re-book at no cost should they lower the fare after you book, or should you have to change plans for some other reason. Plus the non-stop flight each way is a bonus.

When SWA first appeared on the horizon I was hearing all the "cattle call" comments and I also thought I wouldn't want to endure something like that. When it first came to my city, the introductory price was too good to pass up. After the first flight, I was sold on SWA.

Anyway, good luck finding a good price for your trip.
the SW boarding process does not bother me too much. what does bother, me is when an airline wants you to pay a fee to "pick your seat".
Seems Main Street Station was offering $50 in free play with your Allegiant boarding pass. Must be presented in the first 24 hours of arrival. I think that was just last month, not seeing it now however. Damn
