Am I Normal?

About a month ago, we welcomed our first child into the world. Shes a perfect little ball of poop and tears, but she is truly amazing.
With that, I had to put my annual "Low Rollers Solo Trip to Downtown" on hold. Im ok with that. A quick overnight to Harrahs Cherokee or Wind Creek can fill the void. However, I am going through some real FSE withdrawl (my trip is usually around this time).
This morning I even renewed my LVA Membership for another year, complete with the 2013 MRB. I have no clue if Ill even be able to use it, but I still had to get it.

Am I crazy? Or just your typical Vegas junkie?

marko..
Thank god I discovered Las Vegas after my kids were older. It's now a family joke that if I ever disappear they all know where to start looking for me
First off, congratulations on the life-changing event. I have no spouse or kids and can go to Vegas any time my heart desires, but I'd change places. Guess the grass always is greener on the other side.

But in answer to your question, you're no more crazy than those of us who are planning our September trip before we've even taken our July trip...

Congrats again.
Well done and congrats on the arrival of your little girl!

I get to Vegas twice a year -- but in between times I read posts on these these boards, trip reports and sign up for Vegas-related information. There's something about Vegas that can't be matched. I'm a few hours away from Foxwoods/MGM and get there once a month or so to fill in. Sad to say, it's cheaper to stay and play in Vegas for a week than to stay a weekend at Foxwoods. Airfare is the big expense from the East Coast. I think Las Vegas calls like a seductive siren to all who can hear it!

Hope you get your Vegas trip in sooner than later - and meanwhile enjoy your little "pooper"!

All I know is that, from reading his stuff over the years, marko and I like to experience Vegas the same way: on the cheap from downtown.

So if his current situation is typical, might not be a bad idea to double up the birth control . . . .

Ha.. Im lucky to have a wife that understands my love of Vegas. However, it did take a while to convince her that I take my solo trips to unwind and relax (as odd as that seems) and Im not out trolling hookers. Hell, I live in Atlanta, if I wanted a "lady of the night" they are pretty easy to find around here.

So, hopefully, Ill get my next solo trip just after the first of 2014... till then, its lots of living through my LVA friends and their trips..

oh.. the baby is crying.. ok - who wants to bet on whats in the diaper? (see, any excuse to gamble)

marko..
Whoops.....If I had any social skills I would also have congratulated you on your blessing.
My actual point was , I would have obviously forgone my trips to Las Vegas to spend time with my family, but much like you I would have missed it immensely....hence my original post of thank God I discovered Las Vegas "after" my kids were grown
First of all, congratulations on your new baby girl. I am sure she is wrapping daddy around her little finger as we speak.

If I may be so bold as to suggest, instead of a solo trip after the New Year perhaps you may want to take your wife with you for a romantic Vegas trip. You could leave your bundle of joy with the grandparents or other trusted relatives/friends and spoil the mother of your child with all the amenities that Las Vegas has to offer. Not very low-roller, but if mama ain't happy then nobody's happy, and you could still enjoy some downtown gambling action on the side.
Marlo36 is right on by saying "If mama ain't happy then nobody's happy." I am surprised you have not taken your wife in the past. She might say she has no interest but that outlook usually changes after the first visit.
Yes, Marko, fingerstim is right, maybe your wife would like LV since there is definitely other stuff that can be done there besides gaming. I think that there's something there for just about anyone with all kinds of activities going on besides the gaming.

And congratulations on your new bundle of joy!

Edited To Add that I put up a thread discussing all of the other things that people can do in LV besides Casino play.
