Anybody Have Any Thoughts On The D?

I am thinking about staying here my next trip.

"D" stands for "deafening."

I heard that as well but it's not like you have to stay in the casino if it is too loud.

I stayed there the first year it was rebranded as "The D"..    So its been awhile.    I remember thinking the rooms were nice enough but a little basic.   The big demerit was  the noise from Fremont St.

The newly renovated tower rooms at El Cortez are much nicer for the same price and no Fremont noise unless the container park has a concert or something.

have to 2nd the loud music comment.......just would add that we stayed there a year ago and my wife still gets bounce back offers regularly. she had minimal play and gets $25-$40 in food (use at Circa) and $15-$20 free play. two week nights. getting in to Circas pool is a nice perk also..

Don't know about the rooms, but they have excellent coffee at the kiosk by the elevators. Sigma Derby and the Vue Bar with 8/5 BP progressive upstairs make it a great place to visit.

We have stayed there at least 6 times in last 3  years & may stay or not in the future,, on plus side good comps on rooms, food, free play,  great bartenders, super coffee service, great drink service, most employees are good. Negatives, food fair, Super loud everywhere "unfortunates" all over casino , we personally had 3 cases where the " unfortunates" got on elevator with us with evil intents, it took security at least 10 minutes to arrive and no action was taken & no interest was shown by them. We are aware of problem & have code alert words & have defensive actions planned. As stated earlier we may stay in the future because of location and stated pluses, but we still have security questions. Love downtown, Viva Las Vegas

So  Bobby, can you tell us what the behavior of the "unfortunates" was?  Just curious.  Did they hit you up (verbally) for money?  Did they threaten you?  Inquiring minds want to know.  LOL.  Thanks.

Candy

Well, since he was able to read their minds ("evil intents (sic)"), the interaction should have gone very smoothly. I wouldn't waste that talent in an elevator, though. I'd hit the poker tables.

Yes I will, They verbally asked for money, no insisted on money were high on drugs not alcohol, & used the old something in their pocket ( fake gun) trick, we have seem on Vegas Message Board actual videos of Senior Citizens being attacked in The D & 4 Queens elevators. We are not nervous nellys or afraid of our shadows, but sharing our experiences , we will probably stay downtown next trip possibly at The D, but will continue to be on high alert. Hotel Security downtown is poor & with a little effort & expense it could be  greatly improved. We love Vegas in particular downtown. Thanks Candy for your interest & hopefully we will be writing a TR soon praising the improvements of downtown security. Viva Las Vegas.
