Anyone ever do100% to the other side?

We are going to Vegas again, after 2002, for the Biloxi air/hotel deals dried up two plus years ago.

Then guess what....

After we booked Vegas, Biloxi opens up again..

Anyways, we are Vegas comitted.

We always do a one nighter downtown, and was thinking if we ever do Vegas again...

It is going to be 50/50, strip and downtown, for the first time.

I know from reading here, many have done the same, and it will be our first time, granted if we go to Vegas in 2013.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So we are interested in knowing about the experience of doing a totally 100% from those that have done it..

This post is just to make it easier for us to do a 50/50 experience, provided we decide to go again to LV.

We are at the point of burnt out on the strip, but still enjoy it.

This trip will be number three on the strip., and we think 100% LV strip trip in not in the cards anymore.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Vegas, but after this 50/50. But has anyone gone from the strip side to go 100% downtown?

Yes, I many, many years ago gave up completely on the strip when the VP and Blackjack went bad. Downtown has better rules and pay schedules and it takes less coin-in (or play) to get offers out of their casinos! I now really almost never go to the Strip (except maybe if I want to have some diversion and chase after a nice gaming coupon)!

I too have moved my allegiance to downtown as well as other off-Strip gambling locales (one too many Strip traffic jams). I like the grittier feel of downtown and the fact that you can visit several casinos without having to hop in your car. And the place is better suited to the budget-minded as far as rooms, restaurants, and offers are concerned.
I have abandoned the Strip in favor of downtown.
Great atmosphere, good prices and better odds in the casinos.

Moved from the Strip many, many years ago. Just got tired of the crowds, the high food/hotel prices, the kids, the entitled 20somethings, the drunks . . . . split time between DT and neighborhood casinos often, and have spent the entire time DT as well many times. Last Oct we spend a week at Paris (wife had a bingo tourney on the Strip) and it completely reinforced our view that The STrip is not for us. Love DT--slower pace, really love the place in the mornings, better gambling, easy to move casinos, cheap eats. To each his/her own, but we love DT and don't ever see ourselves staying on the STrip again unless we are bringing firt-timers with us.

I went from DT to Strip then BACK to DT..

Cheaper games, more options and most of all, in less than 5 mins you can get from one casino to another..

Plus, I like the crowd. Salt of the earth folks who love to have a good time and very few Affliction t-shirts or Jersey Shore wannabes..

marko..

I have a secret to confess. We have never spent even one night on the strip. Our first trip was 4 days entirely downtown, and every one since then has been a combination of DT and neighborhood - Orleans, Aliante, etc. There are a lot of great things to do and see on the strip, but I'd rather play someplace where the odds are better and I feel like my business is appreciated. We enjoy a good meal, but shelling out $30 for breakfast somehow ruins my appetite. Please don't take this as a criticism of anyone who prefers the strip and what it has to offer - it just isn't for us.
the strip is for tourists----not serious gamblers or value conscious vacationers----
if your 1st trip then yes, stay on the strip and visit all the properties that you have seen on tv,take the bus downtown to eat and gamble---
