ANYONE STAYED AT THE PLAZA RECENTLY?

Recent Plaza notes from last month...(only casino visit)
- VP has gone downhill
- Dealers and low limit tables are still solid
- The new Bier Garten has some solid craft brews...and some tasty sandwiches. Kinda smaller than I expected. Lots of Artificial foliage that looks...cheesy.
- Hash House a Go-Go. Huge portions of fancy looking food that is surprisingly bland.
- Fun crowd that's a little loud.
I was there 2 weeks ago and just about everybody is on par with the Plaza.
Check in was fast and friendly. They offered a Jr. Suite for an extra $40 a night. I declined.
Room was nice and comfortable. Big bed, small couch, desk/drawers combined w/ flat screen on top. Good view of MSS and mountains.
Bathroom was a little small, but everything worked. Again, nothing special about the rooms, but not bad.

Casino is big and cold. We laughed about all the wasted space (lots of empty walls that could hold more slot machines). Plenty of tables for whatever you want to play.
Big sports book and a few big bars.

Hash House a Go Go is a must. Food portions are ridiculously big and good.
Oscars is expensive but a cool vibe.
I stayed away from the sushi joint. Something about downtown sushi in the desert didnt sound appealing.
They also have a coffee shop and a McDonalds.

Pool is big enough and plenty of chairs. Plaza doesnt bring in a "Rehab" crowd, but the bar is open and the water is cold.

All in all, Plaza is a cool joint and for free, its even better.

Do they still have keurig coffee makers in the rooms?
I didn't see one, but I'm not a coffee drinker so I wasn't looking. I'm sure you could get one by asking.

yes, last September, I had a keurig machine in my room and 4 different flavors of K cups, a few bags of sweeteners (splenda etc) and coffeemate dry creamer. I went to wal-greens and bought some half and half as the dry stuff just doesn't cut it with me.

Good to hear..Thanks.

wow, Las Vegas in August......I hope you like heat! I went there once in August and had to leave the air conditioner on full blast for 5 minutes before I could touch the steering wheel of the car!

That's why I always park in garages or I would buy a visor for the dash.

why do I bother ------ Weggie44, didn't you know that before you post you are required to have your postings screened by the all-knowing Chilcoot?

That is why I find "Ignore" to be such a useful feature. I didn't see the remark but I will guess that it was totally worthless.

Truthfully I was referring to a bunch of years back when I stayed at the 'New Frontier" and I remember parking behind the casino in a big paved open lot. My wife and I walked across the parking lot and it was so hot inside the rental car that I jumped in, turned the car on, put the air conditioner on full blast, and then got back out of the car for a while. When I finally got back in the car the steering wheel was still uncomfortably hot. My point to the whole post was and I stick by this.......its hot in Las Vegas in August!
As for the drmilled "ignore" thing......I have no idea what that is? Did he ignore me or did I accidently ignore him?

Whether you "ignored" him, or he "ignored" you, or both, you are way ahead of the game!
