Best Place to Stay Downtown

                           ....NOISY?....Auditory assalt......

***************************************************************************************

I stayed at the GG in a room ON Fremont street, too. I did enjoy watching all of the people, but at my midnight-

betime,I was blasted wide awake @ 1 AM. That was the last FSE/Viva Vision of the night. Then I fell back asleep.

Du Pars was there, then and the room rates were great, for my solo trip. If you stay up late, those are the rooms to request.Back the,the hallways reminded me of the movie,"The Shining".

The DTG rooms are very close to the 3rd street stage and it is loud until 1 AM. Ear plugs are provided.

The Hogs and Heiffers is right across the street and that lot can be noisy!

The freeway side of the MSS is really noisy!Harley's and Semi's,oh my!

I guess you would say that I was a light sleeper, then.

Thanks,Bob.

The D is one of my favorites, and if you book a "Premium King" room, you won't have much issue with sound.  The premium rooms are all above the (30th? 30ish) floor.  Never had an issue with sound here on the Premium rooms.

Also, the Downtown Grand is an awesome place to stay, with a great casino and restaurants.  It is one block from The D just off of Freemont.  It is literally a 2 minute walk from the door to Freemont.  I recommend it.

I typically stay at the D but stayed at the DG a while back and was very happy with the rooms and the comfort of the bed.  Since that stay they have updated the restaurants and other ammeninities.  But I'm a fan of both.

GN is the "best" place to stay... but also the most expensive obviously.

El Cortez is pretty good and away from the hustle and bustle of the FSE.

Unless they have a concert at the container park.    I had a pavillion room their last year.    It was a nice view of the goings on accross the street but they might as well have been playing drums in my room  =)

I've never stayed in a Pavillion room.Usually stay in a Tower room with no problems.

DOWNTOWN!

What about all of those "happy hours?"

There are a few.

Whore derves,too?

We love it at Main Street, we try to get a room away from the train side..Also they comp us rooms and when they are comped there are no resort fees. Nice Casino away from the night craziness on Freemont. We generally gamble early on Freemont and head inside to the California or Main Street after 8pm.

Best casino downtown as far as their players club? (Video Poker/slots).

I'll say 4 Queens or Binion's,based on points values/cost for coin in.

Plaza and The D,not as good.

El Cortez and Downtown Grand's players club is just OK.

The Boyd's properties are the least value for points.

Considering cash back and comps, that is.
