Binion's/Four Queens News

I booked an offer for December via phone. I asked them what my offer was.  They told me to pick up a new card when I arrive. They gave me 1 night at 25 percent off and then two nights free. I took Friday and Saturday as my free nights and upgraded to a king premium room.

Not sure what the free slot play component was but I suspect $20 as that is what it was in my past mailers.

November and December offers are on the same mailer for both Bin and 4Q.

Looks like they are STILL having problems integrating the systems.   Yesterday morning the entire IT system went down at 4Q.   All machines Out of Service and restaurant point of sale were all down too.   Magnolias was cash only all morning.   Over at Binions yesterday the restaurant POS were down but the slots were up.

Who's taking action that November 7th will be pushed back yet again?   Let's hope so.

You are assuming that the outage has to do with the intergration of the systems.   As the LVA says, the symptoms of this outage are the same as the last one, due to hacking.   If the date is pushed back, it wouldn't be surprising as recovery from the hacking, if it happened again, will set them back some time.

This month's LVA reports that 4Q has 9/6Jacks up to $1.   Not on the $8/point machines since November of '21.

The 9/6 Jacks at the 4Q are up to $.50 only. No dollars.

The 10/7 DB are available at the dollar level.

I thought the four machines with $1 10/7 DB also had $1 9/6 JoB. ($16 per point)  Are they gone? I've never seen anyone playing that game on those machines. Everyone I've seen plays the $1 10/7 DB instead.

I just checked VPFree2 and they are listing the 4 machines as still having $1 9/6 JOB -- maybe someone can give a current update....

There's no $1 9/6 JOB there any more.

The reason to play that game rather than 10/7 DB is the much lower volatilityand much easier strategy...plus, if you're taking advantage of a promo that requires X amount of coin-in, you get there twice as fast.

A couple of months ago, I calculated that playing the max total amount for the earn 100 points get $10 promo was almost the same for each game, and of course with JOB. You're much less likely to get pounded through the floor.

I looked at the machines with $1 10/7 DB at the Four Queens today. They do also have $1 9/6 JoB just as they have had for a long time.

P.S. Bob Dancer wrote an article about playing 10/7 DB with 9/6 JoB strategy on 4/15/22. The return is 99.63%, higher than 99.54% for playing 9/6 JoB with 9/6 JoB strategy but with a higher variance.

Good to hear about the $1 9/6 JOB still being available at the 4Queens, ( it is still currently listed as being available at the 4 Queens on vpFree2 at $1 dollar denomination)  I also knew about playing 10/7 DB as one plays 9/6 JOB - this info is in the 10/7 DB strategy cards that Bob Dancer sells. I personally do play 10/7 DB using the 9/6 JOB strategy. I have found that it is easier for me to use the much easier 9/6 JOB strategy versus the 10/7 DB strategy. Granted, you do lose a very small percentage using the 9/6 JOB strategy vesus the 10/7 DB strategy - but I find it so much easier to play 10/7 DB and I have had great results doing so. I suggest that anyone who chooses to play at the 10/7 DB @ the 4 Queens to consider using the JOB strategy.

That's terrible advice, as by doing so, you move from a winning game to a losing game. A modest 600 hands an hour at $1 DB is $3000 an hour. At optimal play, you get a 100.17% return, or about $5 an hour. Playing JOB strategy, you get a 99.63% return, or about a $10 an hour loss. So not bothering to use the proper strategy costs you $15 an hour. At quarters, $3.75 an hour.

And of course, you don't have to learn the strategy--you just have to have a strategy card handy. And you'll eventually learn some of the plays that come up a lot, such as J9873, draw to the inside straight, Axx suited xx, draw two to the flush, etc., that you wouldn't make using JOB strategy.

It's really not that difficult to learn the strategy, as the "counterintuitive" plays are quite often because of the large payouts for straights and flushes (as compared to JOB). I learned quickly because I asked myself "why?" for all the odd-seeming plays.
