birthday cake

I am trying to get a birthday cake downtown at the GN a cake that feed 8 is almost 80. Looking for suggestions. I want something a little special but not that special LOL. I have a car so I can drive and pick it up.

thanks
I've heard people rave for years about Freed's Bakery (if it's still around), so check into that!

Otherwise, maybe you could try Albertson's Market which should still be on Sahara at Maryland Parkway (unless that's changed). Or there also should be an Albertson's at Maryland Parkway and Flamingo.

Thanks I thought about Freeds but it's a little far to drive. How is Albertson bakery? Anyone tried it? It is close and looks like they have some nice fancy cakes.
You're very welcome!

Since I keep Kosher, I have not tried any Albertson's Bakery but I do remember seeing the bakery during my shopping visits there (I've been to both locations) over the years.

And so I realized that this would probably suit your needs and not be too expensive.

Perhaps Dupars at the golden Gate might be able to help you out. Their baked goods are very good.
Thanks jazzlover I do love Dupars pancakes . No info on line so I will give them a call. Called no birthday cakes

RecVP I forgot you keep kosher jeez I know you have posted enough that I should remember .
A couple of great pies with graham cracker crust and some creativity be all bad. Another idea.......In China Town on Spring Mountain their is a bakery called Diamond Bakery . they have good cakes and can even use whipped cream instead of frosting on a cake. i looked them up and Diamond Cakes came up on google. They had photos of their cakes ...........Perhaps this might help.
I think Freed's delivered a cake for us on a birthday. I don't remember the price, but we all still talk about the cake! It was huge & wonderful!!
You might try GiGi's Cupcakes at the Plaza.

I was originally thinking the same thing, but apparently, they just closed recently.
