Boyd reduces benefits for card holders

Just went back to Fremont after missing a year. Boyd has really eviscerated the value to their lowest tier (ruby) club members.

1) None of the point multipliers that you can get out of the ACG or other publications can be used by Ruby members

2) You can still pay with your points at the restaurants, but Ruby members can't get the discounts.

3) They've reduced their Wednesday "senior" deals dramatically at all levels, but will tell you flat out that the ones for Ruby members are nothing like higher card holders.

Even more unsettling was the attitude of at least one of the club team members. Whe she realized we were Ruby she LITERALLY stuck her nose in the air and told us that if we wanted better service we should play more.  That was just one person and the others were nice about it and stated that it was a corporate decision (of course).

Otherwise the stay was pleasant as always. We got a deal in the mail and got good rates and they did not charge the resort fee (whether intended or accidental, I certainly wasn't going to ask).

The food and gambling were good.

Other than the above-noted rewards club employee, everyone was great (as always)

Boyd really decimated their players club, especially for video poker players and lower tier members.

Well, you just need to take a stand and tell them you are done!

If you are an annual visitor then you will always be a RUBY player regardless of how much you play because your tier and points now expire.    So I guess they are only interested in locals?   Thats pretty dumb considering their presence downtown.

There's been nothing but heated backlash since they announced the new changes.   I suspect they're losing lots of players.

The day I departed I had some like 475,000 bonus points in my account. Knowing that my Emerald Level is most likely good only until the end of this year (although I renewed my tier in March 2018 and they said it would be good for 1 year, I doubt that. So I had no option but to cash out all of my points because I don't know when will be the next time I can come and visit. It is written somewhere that bonus points would also expire 6 months after the last time of account activity.

I am not the type of person to surrender 475 Dollars in cashback  (or something like 600 dollars in dining comps) because of some silly corportate decision. I think this is just flat wrong. Instead of reducing the paytables and leave everything else as it is for videopoker , they did this. And it's a big mistake in my opnion. Even during the few days I was there during Young at Heart , I noticed that at the Gold Coast there were less players than last time. When I learned that the drawing tickets are being given out based on the tier points earned I cashed out my money and headed over to Palace Station. I like the Gold Coast, it's one of my personal favorite casinos in Las Vegas. But I disagree completely with that new players club decision. Sorry, but this time I think Station Casinos is the better place to stay and play. And Palace Station is completely remodeled. The buffet is clean and good and not expensive. And the gaming floor is also very nice now. There is one bank (of 6) machines with 99.80% games and from what I remember there is also one bank with 100%+ games. Plus, there are a lot of progressive machines that at certain days are hightly profitable. Plus all the points you can earn....

Could it be that Boyd plans to reduce the big army of Videopoker machines and replace them with these new generation video slots? From this point of view it would make sense to first push away all videoker fans and then take out the machines in a second step....

For Ruby card holders, it is not impossible to get to the next level, but might have to give up video poker for a while.  There is not a definitive amount on video poker one must put through, but every time a game is changed on a multi-game machine, it starts over.  For keno and slots, it seems that for every $5.00 through (without changing games), one Tier Pt. is awarded.  They were even doubling tier pts earned for a while, and may still do it.  The magic number of Tier Pts to get to Saphier is 750, and that holds all through next year.  At Saphier, the regular points start accumulating again.

For those who think Palace Station will be a nice alternative to Gold Coast, I would have to disagree.  Palace Station has taken out much of their video poker and replaced most of the floor with loud dinging slot machines.  Even most of the video poker that is left, they have taken away the ability to control the speed.  They like to leave it on the fastest (so you lose quicker).

Also, as nice as it is for some to have live keno, there is hardly anyone there and one of our keno friends told us why - they took out the video keno machines surrounding the area and replaced them with loud, annoying slot machines.  It is like an arcade.

Then, as if the loud noise of the slot machines and smoke was not annoying enough, the piped in horrible music is way too loud, which is not the case at Gold Coast.  The only tolerable day at Palace for noise is on Senior Day, Wednesday when it is decent music and seemingly not as loud.

SURE,replace the video poker machines with SLOTS!

The stock holders will be happy with that desision!

20% TAKE is better that just a 1-5% take.

Maybe I will stay home and WISH that Las Vegas will be better.

Please continue to complain,people.
