the cabana suite at el cortez

Has anyone stayed in the Cabana Suite at the El Cortez? I was thinking about using the LVA coupon for $45 the first night, second night free at this place in december while im down there instead of spending two nights at IP. I was thinking about the gold spike coupone for a room for 7.77, el cortez coupon for 45 for a suite for two nights, then the IP for last night in Vegas. That makes for nights at a total of about $95 with all fees and taxes. But back to the original question, how is the cabana suite at the el cortez?
They aren't bad......stayed in one last month for two nights. Check my trip report for a run down, but here is what I recall.

Staying across the street is not a big deal. Room is small, clean and very GREEN. No, not ecological, but loud, bright, lime green in color. Bath was small, shower no tub. Not much space for your toiletries. Lighting is very low. I couldn't tell navy from black slacks without going to the better lit bathroom.

Not a bad deal if you want to be downtown.

Best of luck.
We stayed there when they first opened. For pictures, go to TripAdvisor.com and search El Cortez Cabana Suites. I posted some photos and I'm sure others have as well. The rooms are clean, comfortable, not well lit, and VERY lime green. Not bad for the price.
I considered both the Cabana Suites and the Spike deal for my trip last month. I opted for the 4Qs and was very satisfied. CSs lokks like it would be ok. The only thing that got me were the colors that seemed to jump out at you. I also thought about the $7.77 nt at the Spike either double booking or separately, but decided not to. Glad I didn't. I'm sure the room is ok, but the location is not good and the casino doesn't have much to offer me. I drove past it one day and the outside of the building didn't look to good.

I would say, take the Cortez deal at $45 for two nights, or for anoth $20 total, I'd recommend the 4Qs. Renovated rooms with good games and you're right in the middle of the whole shootin' match. Also, the Chicago Brewing Co is a great place to watch a game, have a huge cocktail and play some decent VP. Have a good time.

Good Luck!

Stayed there last month for 3 nights. "Deluxe rooms" are VERY small, but comfortable. HDTV, bed, nice bathroom. Not much else. Had a tour of the big suites, which are spacious and look good. If you have ever stayed in the tower rooms they are similar, but a little more plush.

For the price, better than a lot of rooms downtown or off strip.
The super suites at Cabana are quite a bit larger
I posted a question a while back about the EC, Fitz and GG coupons from the MRB and the response indicated that the Cabana Suites were the best of those particular options so I'll likely be staying there on my next Vegas trip.
