How is this any different?
In the promotions Dancer has previously described, his entries were earned based on play. The more play he gave, the more entries he got. If he had 20% of the entries in a contest because he gave a casino tons of play, more power to him.
As I stated in my post, I understand that Chet didn't break any rules. In fact, good for him for finding a way to take advantage of a poorly designed promotion (in that a $300 buy-in with no play requirement would earn a drawing ticket), but understand that I have a few sour grapes since my entries which were earned by meeting the requirements of the spirit of the promotion weren't worth as much as they should have been, thanks to literally dozens of entries earned by taking advantage of the situation.
I'm not entirely siding with the casino -- I agree that they should have designed the promotions so they were less likely to be abused, but I'm guessing they didn't consider that someone would come along and abuse them. I imagine they've learned their lesson, thanks to Chet, and now it will likely be more difficult for all players to earn entries in the future.
