The D planning a two night stay in August

I plan to stay two nights in August, the 22nd and 23rd. Have reserved a renovated room for $35.00 a night. Have not stayed at the D/Fitzeralds before.

Has anyone stayed in a renovated room yet? Much better than old rooms?

What is the noise level in the rooms from the Freemont Street Experience?

Thanks for any feedback.

With The D being a downtown casino, it's generally discussed most in the downtown forum, suggest you check there. Oh, and it's "Fremont". Famous American, John C. Fremont.

Just realized how had it will be to search for threads here about a casino named "The D". Another reason that name sucks.
Had 3 free nights at the D from july 4th-6th leaving on july 7th. I stayed on 7/4 and 7/5 but moved my belongings to Planet Hollywood on july 6th. I still kept the room at the D for resting purposes when downtown. a nonsmoking room was chosen. When I came back on July 7th to checkout I went up to the room. What I found was since I didnt spend the night there someone decided it was ok to use my room. As I opened up the door the smell of cigarette smoke was overcoming so I went down to security they confirmed the room was still in my name so we walked up to investigate. The security officer knocked and entered the room 1st and found no one in there but a bottle of water along with a half filled cup used for ashes was on the table. pillows were all sitting upright on the bed. In the bathroom was a liter of coca cola on ice, a snack cake, and a half smoked cigarette on the sink. I gave my statement to security and told them I didn't authorize anyone to use the room. They told me they would do a key check to see who was in my room. I called back to see if any information was available on who took over my room I left my name and phone # for them to get back to me as of today I still haven't had a response from them I feel they don't care.
That's unbelievable. I wonder if someone at the front desk screwed up and the D doesn't want to fess up to their mistake. The fact that you were never given an explanation is inexcuseable. Shame on the D.
