afaik, Gold Spike, and pretending you're a guest @ MSS are your only options for free wifi.
The Beat coffee house says they have wifi, but I couldn't connect on 2 attempts.
And Krispy Kreme is gone.

Hash House has it but it is for diners

There is a sign at MSS stating that effective December 15th Wi-Fi will no longer be offered in the area between the slot club and 777 restaurant.

To me this was the best place downtown to get on a computer, check email, it would work in the 777 and I did that several times over the years.

They will probably sell more interweb connections in the rooms but I think this is a penny-wise, pound-foolish move. I would go over and use it while staying at 4Q, ElCo, ect. and would usually
grab a bite to eat and play as well - will go there much less now.

Does that mean that there is also none in the reception area?
We are booked in 5 nights for NYE - the wifi was one of the reasons we choose MSS.

I just emailed them and asked what is going on. I'll post their response

I like MSS, and there are still plenty of good reasons to go there.

But as a downtowner I agree, I'll go there less frequently when the free wifi goes away, and therefore gamble less there.

Yes, free WiFi access has been discontinued. We now offer WiFi access in our hotel rooms for a fee.

That is what we are discussing - free Hotspots downtown. It used to be the donut place at the D - they are gone, and now MSS. Where do you find them? Thanks.
