DO THIS In Downtown Vegas List

where do you get the shrimp nowadays at golden gate? is it still good? piano player?

the shrimp/sandwich place at the back is long gone.

was there in december and thought there was no reason to go back. they like themselves too much!
Oh forgot to list--eat a chocolate covered frozen banana from Mermaids. Every time I do--I end up hitting a royal flush a few days later.

You can still get the shrimp at Dupars, but no piano player. Last summer one of the hosts said they were thinking about bringing the piano player back, due to popular demand.

I still like Golden Gate, while I do miss the little touches, the renovations are nice..

I also like to take a break and chill at the Keno lounge. I play a couple of dollars per game and drink the Coronas as fast as they bring them...which surprisingly is often.

I also like to spend about $20 tipping the street performers. I know a lot of people don't like them, but for $1 it is a great memory and the people back home love my Vegas performer pictures.

I like the zipline, although I don't do it every time because I'm too impatient to wait in line.

Get a coney at American Coney Island at the D.

Stay up late (past 3am), wander though the streets alone and see how many women are interested in you. Trust me, about every 50 feet someone will think you look "lonely" and want some company. Last visit, I had six in one night approach me. I must either look pathetic or rich.....

Watch the bands, enjoy the experience of Fremont.....

Love to watch the dancers, inside and outside the casinos. Even my wife doesn't mind....

Play the vintage machines upstairs at the D....

$3 Vodka/Red Bulls or $2 Coronas at the Fremont bar.....carry them outside to watch the entertainment....

You can just ask to sit at the Dupars bar if you just want a shrimp cocktail. Usually no wait and quick service.

What is a "touche"?

I like this idea! Very much!
A lot of good suggestions. One I didn't see was breakfast at DuPar's in the Golden Gate Casino. Hands down the best breakfast I've had. Lunch and dinner aren't bad either. The pancakes are indeed terrific (use the LVA coupon) but so is everything else.

Hash House in the Plaza is very good, but I'll still take DuPar's.
I agree, I'd take DuPar's over HHAGG any day. I think the Hash House is mostly hype, personally; they have their "twisted" image and the food is pretty and the portions huge, but I was pretty underwhelmed with the food quality. DuPar's is very basic, but done right; impressive for any chain restaurant.

Just my opinion, of course.
The food trucks are fun to eat at second saturday of each month at the park in front of the Cortez.
