Downtown Boyds

My wife can get any of the three Boyd's Casino rooms for the same price. Which of the three hotels would anyone recommend? (Options of Main Street Station, California, or Fremont). We don't want the gaming or casino to be a factor in considering which one to stay at since you can walk to any of the three. From a pure hotel standpoint, which one is the best?
Main Street Station!!!!!
ive stayed at MSS and FREMONT, MSS is a lil nicer and a decent buffet. it also has easy connection to the cal. I spent several hours on 2 trips last year playing bj 10-20 a hand at the FREMONT, and I have not received any good offers. I think they all 3 have the shutters instead of room darkening curtains and that really sucks. one of these days I will try the cal
We like Main Street. The rooms are a decent size-not huge, but I know Fremont rooms are a little small. Every room at Main Street has a small refrigerator. I'm not sure if the other two offer this.

I have stayed at all 3 properties. I have found the rooms at the Cal, in the new tower, to be the nicest. Main St. is OK, while the Fremont rooms and bathrooms are small. IMHO.
I would say Main Street or Cal. I have not stayed at in the new rooms at the Cal.
I'd stay at MSS again. We stayed NYE a year ago and really enjoyed the room. Despite reviews of noise, we didn't have a problem. We really didn't gamble all that much there. couldn't visit much last year, but we've had mulitple comp offers anyway. Will use on in April for 2 nights plus freeplay. Considering we haven't been there for over a year, that's seems like a good offer to me.
Mss is, also, smallish. The others I don't know personally. It will get much worse at MSS when 'neon' commences. Re-ramping that spaghetti bowl will take years and happen right outside the hotel. No, I don't know the start date. Recently they loosened comps there. I guess they want to get guests in and interested in coming back before it gets noisy, etc. Good luck!
Thank you for the input from all of you. It looks like MSS or the new tower at the Cal.
From what I'm understanding (which seems to be confirmed by DRSTEWART), at least all of the Boyd Downtown Hotel rooms have shutters in them (they did at Fremont when I stayed there once years ago), so if you want darkness when you sleep, these may not be the best places to stay in.
