It was impossible for me to recover that loss even by playing most of the other coupons that I found in the booklet.
I have to admit that I've had better years also. One time I won each and every match play in downtown, and it went fast because I could do it early in the morning midweek. That was a crazy run of good luck and I enjoyed it.

I recommended a simply way to use a $50 match play coupon and get a near-certain return of $24, which is very close to its mathematical value, with zero risk. For some reason, that freaked out a couple of people, and they popped like overripe zits and started attacking me. But I want to avoid precisely what happened to you, so I always "launder" my matchplays this way.
$75 on the Don't Pass. $50 and the coupon on the Pass Line. $1 on 12 to reduce the loss if a comeout 12 is rolled. You win $24 no matter what, unless that 12 is rolled, in which case you'll have a net loss of $20. You can bet $2 on the $12, and you'll win $23 most of the time and $10 if a 12 is rolled.
