Does anyone know if The Downtown Grand has upped there game at the bar ? Last time we were there all the drinks were in plastic cups. A mimosa in a cup is not fun. We are hoping to put this place back in the rotation.

Watch the live LVA live from about 2 weeks ago, the GM was bragging about their drinks.
Whenever I order a cocktail at a table or bar or anywhere, I specify "in a glass, please." Most times it works, whether or not it would have come in a glass anyway. I've just 'learned' by experience.

We just got back, and the bartender said no glasses. All plastic cups, so most people were drinking beer. I earned points at the bar with my play, but my wife did not. We played different games so I am not sure what was going on. The 5 dollar craps table and dollar blackjack were busy, but hardly anyone else there on a wed afternoon

I, speaking only for myself, have no problem with a plastic cup. Over the years I have observed bar personel washing glasses and I wonder just how clean the glasses actually are. Considering just how often a glass is used by others ....
No problem, and I am not down on the Grand, But let it be known that it is a beer. and well drink casino right now trying to find it's place Don't go there thinking Mamosa, or cosmo, It is very clean and looking for bussinessand I hope to spend more time there in the future
We LOVE the Downtown Grand. The ambience is fantastic and always seems clean. My problem is that i cannot for the life of me ever earn a free room. We get free rooms basically at every other downtown casino property. Not to say that we are huge gamblers, but certainly enough to earn comp nights everywhere else.

Check at the players club to be sure they have you in the system, including correct email and mailing address. You probaby have done this, but do it again. And/or go to Host office, talk to the first one that greets you, tell him/her you are wondering about your comps, specifically room comp offers. Good luck.

any alcoholic beverage in a plastic cup is a deal breaker for me. Even if its free. No thanks.

I appreciate your response, PJ. My first "deal breaker" was when I ordered a lemon drop martini and it was brought in a plastic cup. I actually said (nicely, but...) "Huh? A martini in a plastic cup?" the CW was nice, immediately said "Oh, no problem, I'll take it back and bring one in a glass", which she did. Prior to that I probably hadn't thought much about a g&t or something if it came in plastic, like on an airplane. But a martini? Nor coffee, don't even bring it.
