During the middle of March we received nice offers from the Downtown Grand for two nights with some food credit and gaming credits. Our trip for March 29-April 4 was already booked. We already had our March days comped for Southpoint so we did not get to use the Downtown Grand's offer. We stayed the last (April) nights downtown at the Golden Nugget. During that stay we wanted to get some play in at the Downtown Grand hoping to receive future offers.
Since they don't have much to offer in their VP selection I headed for the craps table and the spouse went to play blackjack. Their table games pit is not terribly large. But we both had the same experience. After 30 minutes the pit boss had not logged in our players cards. And no site of a cocktail waitress. It appeared that floor people were all playing grabass next to their computer podium. We asked the dealer several times if we could get logged in. To make this happy time even better we were both getting our butts kicked by the dice and cards.
We finally picked what remaining chips that we had and headed to the cashier. Keep in mind that this was mid day during the week, so the place was empty. My wife mentioned our disappointment to the cashier lady who asked us where we were staying and quickly summoned the casino manager. He was very nice and offered an apology and wanted to comp us dinner. But, we declined since we already had dinner plans. We also told him about the March offers arriving in the middle of March. For us out of state folks we don't have the flexibility of these short notice offers.
We would still like to like stay here at least once as we have stayed at many of the downtown casinos. But, we did not receive any offers for April. Anyone have any better luck here with offers or experiences?
