Downtown Grand Giving Up

people generally play where they stay, at least for part of their trip. u get off of the elevator and land in or near the casino. but if u r staying at the DG in the tower that is not attached to the casino, then u don't land in the casino. it is easy to just walk out the door and not be sucked in by all of the bells and whistles and lights etc... of the casino. this has to hurt them in a big way. and they just keep pouring it on, finding ways to alienate anyone who might want to stay and play there. overall, I enjoyed my stay there, but now they wont let me redeem my free room offers.
Shame. It sounds like the people that run the Grand need to take a page from the book used by Benny Binion and Jackis Gaughan on how to run a casino.

it seems like most casinos have taken a page from the book on how to run a casino -- INTO THE GROUND!!

Unfortunately the modern day execs worry more about bottom line then customer service.
yeah, I know, you all are probably tired of reading my complaints about DG. so.... after several attempts to use the offer that I had from DG, and being refused each time I tried to book....... yesterday in my mailbox I found another offer overlapping the same dates for a "discounted" room instead of a free one!!
DG is in need of customers any chance to gain a customer would not be welcomed. Was in there 11/2/15 and it was empty and people just standing around. Even bill breaking machines had no customers. Sad but they seem to have a problem with attracting customers. Nice small casino, friendly employees but seemed cold.
As of my Thanksgving visit the table games are out of the back room and on the floor again. Craps, roulette, and blackjack were going. I popped in and got my butt kicked at the craps table and then grabbed a slice at Pizza Rock. Downtown Grand seemed to be doing ok - not great. Crowds were definitely bigger on Fremont St casinos but there was a fair crowd at DG too.

Maybe there's hope yet.
Great news, thanks for the update.

I trust your always-sterling trip report is at the printer?
i am willing to give them another chance if they want to play nice. I liked the hotel room and the pool. the staff was run-of-the-mill type.
