Downtown Grand Management Shakeup

So says Vegas, Inc. (which I saw via David McKee's Stiffs and Georges).

New CFO, CFA, table games manager, and marketing director. Seems like just what they need, a new approach to getting people to want to play there. Too often it's a beautiful morgue.

as a guy who dabbles in stocks, its never good to see a CFO go (real bad sign!)......... I hope it survives, like you said its too often a beautiful morgue

Boyde gaming reported a dismal quarter today and had bad outlook for the rest of the year. Boyde is big on Fremont and with their bad rest of the year outlook, it cant bode well for the Grand

The Grand was a pleasant surprise this summer. I didnt know what to think, but really had a good time. We noticed it was dead Saturday morning. Im sure 9 am isnt "prime" playing time, but the place was empty. We liked it because there was no wait for a drink and the dealers were very helpful. we met the F&B Manager and he gave us a tour of Picnic.
I hope they find their place because Id like to stay there on my next trip.

There are much better video poker places downtown. I'll continue to pass on the Grand.

Heck. They have 2 of my 3 favorite games at Full pay (BP and DDB) which I can only say the same about 2 other casinos so I'm gonna give them a try and see what offers a little play will generate while trying to walk out of the DG some $$.

T - 11 days, 4 hours and minutes till VEGAS!!!!!

If they now have 8/5 BP then they'll be getting plenty of play from me....especially now that El Cortez is closing the Flame. Hopefully they are awarding points for VP play.

Champster please report in what your findings are at DTG when you have a chance. I contacted a host there and got 3 nights comped up front w/ $80 fsp and $25 dining credit. Would like to give them more play if they really are FP on DDB.

Thanks for any info you have to share. I'll be there in the middle of next month.
